Meet Pete Light
Peter Light is a local lad; he was born in Southampton and came to know the Lord aged 18 through involvement with the Boys Brigade at Isaac Watts Congregational Church. As his faith grew strong he served in various leadership roles at Millbrook Pentecostal Church and then Shirley Baptist Church. He also became Director of Southampton Youth for Christ before becoming part of the newly planted Community Church Southampton.
At this time he was employed as a management trainee with Southampton City Council and studied for an M.B.A at the local university. He worked as a Social Services area manager for 10 years whist studying by distance learning for a theological degree before joining the full time staff of the Community Church. He was involved in the team which saw the church grow to over a 1000 people during which time several churches were planted in London and the South of England. He was appointed Missions Director for the church and travelled widely into Asia.
During this period he pastored New Life Church in Romsey before passing the leadership on after 25 years. He and Lesley have based in Romsey Christian Fellowship (Elim) Church since 2014 while continuing to travel for Harvestnet International, - a large Apostolic network.
Over the years his fathering and apostolic ministry has enabled the establishing of large apostolic networks of churches especially in Nepal India and Malaysia. More recently he has had input into churches in Belgium and Hungary.
He has been happily married to Lesley for 46 years, they have 3 sons and 7 grandchildren.
