meet Trevor Green

Trevor GreenTrevor Green joined the LEAF Committee in early 2015 after being asked the previous year to consider getting involved with the Management Team.

Trevor is one of the many Brummies who over the years has migrated south and although now a confirmed southerner and supporter of Southampton his accent at times gives the game away!

Born into a Christian family he trusted Jesus as his saviour from an early age. He read law at Manchester University and qualified as a solicitor with a large Birmingham City centre firm. After a few years in private practice he decided to go 'in house' and became a legal adviser to the (then) Tarmac Group of Companies in Wolverhampton. By the late 1980's he was adviser to the Housing Division of the Group, which had become the largest house builder in the UK and he was feeling in need of a new challenge. In addition, he and his wife, Anthea, were concerned at the decline of the church they had attended for many years, particularly because by then they had two young sons. He was approached to become Chief Legal Adviser to the McCarthy & Stone Group of Companies in Bournemouth. Some serious prayer and soul searching followed - not easy to be genuinely willing to follow God's will when it is Birmingham City centre versus New Forest, Purbecks, beach, etc etc! Trevor joined McCarthy & Stone as Chief Legal Adviser and served in that capacity for 25 years, becoming also Company Secretary and latterly a Main Board Director.

Having received a warm welcome at Poulner Baptist Chapel, Ringwood, when they first visited it in 1988, they have been members there ever since, with Trevor being an Elder there for almost 10 years. Their sons, Piers and Lance, are now grown with Piers married with a one year old son and Lance at home trying to get a job as a commercial pilot.

Trevor is an ageing petrolhead and a very average golfer - but with aspirations to be as good as his sons!
