LEAF Leaders Lunch Special with Roy Crowne
HOPE 2018 ~ What's it all about?
Back in 2014 the New Forest area was impacted by HOPE 2014. We saw churches working together for the good of their local communities with many different events and outreaches taking place over the year. Now Roy Crowne, Director of HOPE Together, who last came to us to envision us with that last mission is back - with a mission towards 2018!
Roy's Mission ~ HOPE’s dream, is a growing and vibrant church, showing Jesus’ love and telling the Jesus story, at the heart of every community – and there’s a sense, right across the UK, that it’s about time for a spiritual harvest. The HOPE 2018 vision is presented in a new 16-page brochure which you can either order online or read online at ISSUU Hope Together. You will receive a FREE copy of this when booking your place at the LEAF Leaders Lunch on Thursday 27th April.
We’d love YOU to be involved both in the lunch and also with your church throughout 2018.
The LEAF Leaders Lunch SPECIAL - with Roy Crowne
This is another opportunity to come together as the church leaders of all denominations across the New Forest to hear what Roy Crowne has to say about the upcoming national mission. He has the backing of every major denomination in the UK. Recently at the HOPE 2018 Launch the Archbishop of Canterbury: Justin Welby, praised HOPE Together for its clear mission to get churches working together for the good of all, for unity and for the communities in which the churches are built. Speaking at the Lambeth Palace launch of HOPE 2018, he said "We exist as God’s people to enable the world to meet Jesus and then make up their minds. That's why I like HOPE, that's why churches like HOPE."
The Venue for the lunchtime event will be Ashley Baptist Church (address details below) where By Grace Catering will be providing the feast. We are hoping that representatives from as many churches as possible will come along to be inspired by what is going to happen nationally next year. At our last meeting 50 church leaders - let's see if we can break this record!
What is HOPE 2018?
"HOPE 2018 is here to help you and your church reach your friends family and community with the great news of Jesus. Together let's step out in new ways and talk about Jesus", says Dr Rachel Jordan-Wolf (National Mission and Evangelism Advisor for the Church of England and HOPE Together Board Member.) Roy encapsulates it like this:
"HOPE unities the church across denominations, race, culture and customs. Jesus prayed that we would be one! (John 17: 22-23) When we come together in unity, prayer and mission we show the world what God is like. Our unity has a POWERFUL impact!" says HOPE's Associate Director : Yemi Adedeji. Being part of HOPE 2018 means being intentional about inviting people to become followers of Jesus. Pray for 5 friends, colleagues or neighbours, whoever God has laid upon your heart. Ask for God given opportunities to share your faith with them and help them on their journey to Jesus.
10% ~ Faith to Grow
Do you believe that your church could grow by 10% next year? That means a church of 30 would grow by adding just 3 new Christians... a church of 100, 10 new Christian etc. Can you believe that YOUR fellowship can grow by this amount. We are encouraging every church in the UK to ask God for the Faith - and the opportunities - to grow by just 10%. And the great thing about this is that it is an achievable goal - we can step out in faith together!
So that this can become a reality we have designated 2017 as the year of prayer for mission opportunities. Pray that the ground is ready to receive the seed and prayer for the seeding opportunities. Equally pray for a harvest and the boldness to speak out about our faith in Jesus to our family and friends.
