The Changing Face of Mission

Many churches are active participants in overseas mission outreach. This is achieved by the prayer and financial support of mission agencies and by the sending out of church missionaries on a long-term basis and also short-term outreach through mission teams and individuals. Whatever your involvement in mission, we are sure you and members of your congregation will benefit from joining with us on Saturday 10 th March 2018 for 'The Changing Face of Mission' event at Cornerstone URC in Hythe, Hampshire.

  • How are we to “do” Mission in the years ahead?
  • What are the effective trends in Mission today?
  • How do we meet the new challenges facing Mission?

This event will have three notable speakers and is designed to encourage and inform those interested and involved in mission. It is not promoting any particular organisation or mission work. The speakers will give us an insight into where mission is heading. We are sure you will be encouraged by listening to Bryan Knell (author of The Heart of Church and Mission), Andrew Chard (director of AIM) and John and Gwen Hall (John was previously chairman of GEAR and founder of Romans 1:11 Trust). These dynamic speakers will be sharing from their vast experience and knowledge to give an overview of mission and its relationship to the Church. In the afternoon, there will be an opportunity to ask questions of this expert panel. They will be joined by Chris Copley (see below) of Cornerstone.

Mission from a different Viewpoint

You may have attended similar very worthwhile events before which are driven by the mission agencies. This event is driven by the church to give a different viewpoint. We will be pleased to host you, reserve seats for groups and provide a lunch (you will need to book for the lunch). Car parking is available in the nearby public car park and we are a few minutes’ walk from the Hythe ferry.

In the afternoon if time permits the panel will also take questions from the floor therefore please bring your questions so we can help. We prefer written questions in advance so that a full and considered answer can be given. Email any questions to:
